In Acts 1:8 Jesus tells his disciples, "...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” His plan was for the disciples to start at home and move out into the world with his gospel. We think it's a pretty good formula. We have oppurtunities to give and serve in 3 areas:

• First, here at DPC in the local church body.

• Second, in our local community and the city of San Francisco.

• Third, we have oppurtunities for you to help take the gospel across the world.

Serve at Dolores Park Church

Jesus calls the church his "bride" (Rev 21:9). Jesus loves the church. And since we love Jesus, we should also love His church. DPC is a thriving church body in the heart of San Francisco. But, it takes a lot of time and effort to keep a church moving. Here at DPC, we believe that God doesn't call people to be spectators. He calls us to be involved. He calls us to humbly serve. At DPC, we have plenty of areas to serve and we have plenty of need. We have provided a booklet below that will guide you as you try to find a place to help out. And as you think this over, we ask that you pray and see what God lays on your heart. He has gifted you with talent that can be used here at DPC. He built you the way that you are. And we want you to serve in the area that you were built to serve in.

Local Outreach

One of the last things Jesus told his disciples was that they would become witnesses of his Kingdom message and mission throughout the world. This is a central part of our mission at DPC as we try to live as the hands and feet of Jesus in San Francisco. We love this city. This means that we also love to serve the people of the city. In the .pdf below is a list of opportunities that we have as followers of Christ to bless the people of San Francisco. Please serve with and give to these ministries as the Lord leads you. Follow the prompting of his Spirit. And we ask that you pray continually for the work that goes on in all of these different areas.

Global Outreach

We did some research here at DPC and we figured out something that shocked us all: America is not the only place in the world! Who knew, right? At DPC, we take very seriously the call to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18-20). Eventually, us believers will be in Heaven. And when we get there, we want to make sure that we aren't alone. We want to see Heaven filled with people from India, China, Africa, the Phillipines and from all over the globe. Below is a short booklet about the Missions team here at DPC.

We have also included a list of currently supported missionaries. These men and women are some of the most amazing people in the body of Christ. They have left their home countries, families and the security that most of us enjoy in order to make sure that they aren't the only people in Heaven. Please read through the booklet and see how you can be involved here with our missions team. We ask that you pray for our missionaries (1 Thess 5:17) and for the people they are reaching with the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ. Finally, if God puts it on your heart to help financially support one of these amazing people, we ask that you follow his prompting.
