Dolores Park Church is actively involved in extending the love of Jesus to our neighbors and surrounding community. Because we have received the grace of God, we desire to share it in practical and meaningful ways with others.
Opportunities
Mission High School: In the heart of the Mission District; you can get involved with the parent support network and bring hope and encouragement to families in crisis, share your knowledge in classroom and after-school mentoring and tutoring, build friendships with kids through recreation and after-school activities, or help keep up the grounds by gardening or coming to a campus work day.
Tutors needed for Mission High: A great opportunity to serve; Mission High School kids are asking for our help. Tutors needed for all subjects, but especially math and science. For mor information email Jessica DeBruin at zestfullyjess@gmail.com
Cesar Chavez Elementary School: Located in one of the city's poorest communities; you can help distribute groceries to 70 families at the Healthy Children's Food Pantry program, read to kindergarten kids during their library hour, or tutor kids in the after-school homework club.
Notre Dame Plaza: A multi-ethnic senior residential community right in our neighborhood; you can share a cup of coffee, listen to life stories, take a walk, go along on outings, tend a garden, or just be a friend to a lonely senior.
SF Homeless Connect: A city-sponsored program offering services to the homeless; you can volunteer your time in a variety of ways, including meeting and directing clients, washing feet, repairing wheel chairs, distributing food, or helping at the book table.
