Welcome to our kids page at DPC! We're a community of believers dedicated to discipling our children and teaching them the Big Story of God and the love and grace he has for each one of them. We do this by living life together in community and having a solid group of volunteers who love kids and are dedicated to Bible-centered teaching every Sunday morning. Below are some quick FAQs. Feel free to drop by any Sunday if you'd like to check it out.

Where do you meet?

Children 3-10 years of age meet their teachers in the back of the Sanctuary after announcements. Our teachers then walk the children over to our education building on 65 Dorland where they have their class on the second floor.

Who is in charge?

Our Director Shawna Smith and wife of our head pastor Anne LLoyd coordinate the children’s programs. Both are trained teachers with years of experience working with children across the age and ability spectrum. Our classrooms are always led by at least 2 adults every Sunday who volunteer on a monthly rotation overseen by the directors. If you would like to contact our children's ministry leadership team, click the button at the top of the page.

Are your volunteers screened?

Always. We take security seriously. Every children’s and youth ministry volunteer undergoes a background check at the state and federal level before they begin serving.

What is your teaching curriculum?

Teachers use the Gospel Project's Kids Curriculum. We feel it gives the children a clear understanding of the Big God Story and how the Scriptures point to Jesus as our Savior. To check out this curriculum for yourself, click here.

Is there a snack for my child?

Yes. We provide a healthy (nut-free) snack for our children. If your child has special dietary needs, let us know and we’ll be sure to tend to them.

Is there a nursery for babies?

Here's a picture of 65 Dorland St. This is where babies get dropped off and kids meet.

Our nursery is located in our education building on 65 Dorland on the second floor. You can drop your child off beginning at 10:20am and pick them up when church is over. There are parent pagers you can choose to take with you into the adult gathering so we can page you in case of an emergency. (Don't worry, we won't page you for something like a diaper change! We've got that stuff covered.) We also have a cry room located in the back of the church if you’d rather have your infant with you and still be in the worship gathering.

What age groups go where?

Our nursery is on the 2nd floor of 65 Dorland St. in room 204.
Our preschool and elementary school children meet in room 208 on the same floor. We also have a small gym on that floor that is a great space for group games towards the end of Sunday school.
